The youth is the future

Voting at only 16 years old, sounds weird right but is not it exactly the right thing to do. There would might be a lot of things gone different like maybe trump would not be President or would there even be a Brexit. In this article I am going to tell you all why the voting age should be lowered to 16 years old. At age of 16, people should have a voice as well. They actually can already think fully on their own, have their own opinion and are citizen who should be included in their country.

Knowledge                                                                                                                             16 years olds actually are actually just as knowledgeable in Politics and civics as adults and therefore also good voters. That statement was confirmed by the American Academy of political and social science, they tested 16 years olds and adults on their political knowledge and surprisingly the scores were similar which means that 16 years olds are ready to vote. If people are still skeptical about the knowledge of 16 years then maybe they should all follow a curses before voting or the schools should pay more attention to Politics. 

Unfair

Is not it weird that the youth cannot decide for their own future but actually the older people. The youth have to live way longer with the adults decisions which is ridiculous that they have absolutely no say in their own country.  

The youth participate almost fully in the society because they sometimes pay tax, drive cars and travel internationally  so they actually should have the same right as the adults.

Conclusion

The youth should have their own voice in their country because it influences their future, are as Knowledgeable as adults and they should not be left out in our society.

In this blog I will be writing about my dream holiday which is a vacation to Thailand for 11 days. I have choosen this holiday because Thailand has stunning beaches, warm weather and I really love to experience new cultures.    I am also going to make this trip in the summer vacation  with my parents, my brother and my brothers girlfriend. We will be going there by plane  from schiphol to Bangkok. We will first go to Bangkok  for a few days and then we will fly further south to Krabi where we will be staying for the rest of our vacation.

Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand with 8 million habitants also the biggest city in Thailand. It is known for the beautiful temples, tuktuk’s, markets and not to forget the outstanding night life.

The first day I want to visit the most popular temples like Wat Arun, it honours the god of Dawn and it is a white temple which light up in the night. Wat Benchamabophit also known as the marble temple which is my personal favourite because it is less crowded and beautiful, Wat Pho, the temple of the lying Buddha is the biggest and oldest of Bangkok inside the temple is a enormous lying golden Buddha and now finally the last temple I will be talking about is Wat Phra Kaew, the temple of the emerald Buddha it is the most known temple in Bangkok which does not surprise me it is absolutely stunning. If  you want to visit these temples you do have to wear Clothes that will cover most of your body.

Like I already said Bangkok is also known for the markets especially the floating market called Damnoen Saduak. You will sit in small boat were you will surpass small boats that sell food, drinks and other stuff you would normally buy at a market. Another normal market is Chatuchak market it is one of the biggest market in the world and a must-see if you visit Bangkok.

Krabi

Changwat Krabi is a state in the south of Thailand. Krabi has by far the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and you can also find there some national parks. I will be staying there for a week.

Railay beach is the most known beach in whole Thailand. It has these beautiful limestone cliffs on the beach and the sea has a turquoise colour. During your visit at Railay beach you can also go climbing  for the most beautiful views which I won’t be doing because I am scared of heights. Another thing you can do is visit the diamond caves and participate in some water activities.

Thung Teao forest National park is the most popular National park in Krabi because of the touristy attractions like the hot spring (smooth rocks filled with water provided by thermal spring it also contains mineral salts), emeraldpool and an elephant sanctuary.

Phi phi islands are a group of 6 small islands for the coast in Krabi many people go there by the traditional boats. It is a place were you can fully relax with the pretty view and the white sand .If you’re a animal lover you need to visit monkey beach.  I am really looking forward to visit.

Biography of Nicki Minaj

For my biography I am going to write about Onika Tanya Maraj better known as Nicki minaj because she is one of my favourite artist, I have been a fan of her for as long as I can remember and I went to her concert in March. She is a famous rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and model. She was born on the 8^th of  December 1982 in Saint James, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and later raised in the Queens, New York.

Youth

Onika did not have the prettiest  youth.  She was raised by her grandparents because her parents moved to New York to find a better life. She reunited with her parents when she was five and lived in Queens, New York. Her father developed a crack addiction and started to get violent, verbally and physically towards her mother in one of her songs she wrote “All of my young and teenage years we lived in fear that my mother would be killed by my father”. One night he actually came close to killing her mother by burning their house down and her mother escaped last minute.

Music career

Her music career started in 2007 when she released her first mixtape called playtime is over, her second in 2008 called Sucka free which made her win the award for female artist of the year at the underground music awards and her third mixtape made her have a spot in the billboard hot rap charts. In 2009 she was discovered by lil wayne and so she signed a recording contract with his young money entertainment because of that she appeared on the bedrock which peaked at number 2 of the billboard hot 100.

It was not until 2010 when she released her album Pink Friday when she finally got famous. The album debutad at second place and was later certified triple platinum. One of the songs on the album called super bass is now certified as diamond.

In 2012 she got even more famous because of her super bowl performance with Madonna and a short time after that she released her album,  pink  Friday: Roman reloaded. She got a very big hit with her song starships and also performed at the Grammy’s.

Her next album called the Pinkprint is my personal favourite of her because it really diverse it got some rap, R&B and pop songs and a lot of features with other stars like Beyoncè, Chris Brown and Drake. With her single Anaconda she finally got worldwide famous and broke a lot of records.

Last year she got a lot new hit songs with stars like 6ix9ine, Kanye West and lil uzi vert because of that she is now the first female artist to have had 100+ entrees in the Billboard hot 100. She also released a new album called queen with as top single has Chun-li which is now also her new alter-ego. After the release of her album she did a tour Europe. I went to her concert in Amsterdam which was really amazing because she sings live actually really good and she really made a show of the concert which I loved.

John Everett Millais, Ophelia

In this blog I will be writing about one of the British art masterpieces called Ophelia. You can watch this painting at the Tate collection museum in London. This painting is a part of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of English artists in the Victorian era (1837-1901). So this painting is dated in 1851 or 1852. It is 76 x 112 cm and made with oil paint.

Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood

John Everett Millias started with 6 other painters and a poet in 1848 the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. They wanted to change the current Art into the simple, accurate and realistic methods so they paid a lot of attention to the nature. This style was used a lot before the renaissance. You can really see in Ophelia that it is from the Pre- Raphaelite Brotherhood because of the details in the nature and everything looks realistic.

Ophelia

Ophelia is a character from Hamlet, a very famous play by William Shakespeare. Ophelia is in love with Hamlet, prince of Denmark. Hamlet accidently kills Ophelia’s father, he wanted to kill his uncle Claudius because he killed Hamlets father but instead he killed Ophelia’s father. Hamlet left to England. Ophelia started to get crazy because of the loss of her father and Hamlets departure. One time she sat next to a river picking flowers and she fell in the river and drowned. Some people believe that she actually commited suicide. This scene of Hamlet is obviously the painting.

Each flower has his own meaning: the daisy’s stand for innocence, roses for beauty and love and the violins for virginity. Ophelia’s pose, her arms open and her upwards gaze resembles portrayals of saints or Martyrs.

This is my review about the movie After which released on april 19, 2019 directed by Jenny Gage and screenplay is by Susan McMartin, Tamara Chestna and Jenny Gage. It is based on a fan-fiction from Wattpad written by Anna Todd. I watched the movie yesterday evening with my best friends. It is a typical teenage Drama/Romantic movie.

Summary

Tessa an innocent nerdy girl just started college. Her roommate called Steph is the opposite of Tessa, she is really outgoing and rebellious. Tessa started to hang out with Steph and her group of friends because of that she meets Hardin, a mysterious bad boy. Hardin and Tessa are starting to fall for each other but at that time Tessa still had a boyfriend called Noah. Noah finds out Tessa had been cheating on him with Hardin so Tessa and Noah broke up and Tessa and Hardin started dating. Hardin is a very attractive boy so Tessa had a lot of people who were jealous of her relationship. Those people wanted to cause problems between Hardin and Tessa.

Opinion

In my opinion the movie was not that good because the plot was not really interesting and nothing special also because you can really guess what was going to happen. Despite of that I did have a lot of fun watching it because it did had some funny moments and I really love those cheesy romantic teenage movies does not matter how bad they actually are.

Recommendation

I would really only recommend this movie if you are into romantic movie and if you have a lot of spare time because I do not think you would miss out if you have not watched it yet. So if you do not know what to watch and you are into romantic movie you can definitely watch it.
